First the back story. I have been a fan of the Starbucks brand of coffee for well over 19 years now. After nineteen years of patronage, my support has come to an end. It is not simply the political stance that Starbucks CEO uses to throw his weight around in the arena. It is the simple fact that Starbucks has now undermined the unfortunate American who is unemployed.
For some people, Starbucks is a career. I have relatives that still work for or have worked for this company. It is their life’s blood support for their family. Now imagine if you will that one of your out of work relatives saw the opportunity to apply at a local Starbucks and was declined due to a temporary (who knows how long) hiring freeze unless you were a refugee? Would that disturb you? How would you feel for your family member? What would you think of the company who put a non-American ahead of you in hiring?
I will tell you that I feel absolutely sick in the stomach over those that think this is about President Donald Trump’s new TEMPORARY Travel Ban. It is far removed from that. This is the leftist liberals in this country that care not for the safety of our country. America has had these migrant controls in place long before Trump took office. The difference is, President Trump is enforcing them to keep America safe. This isn’t a silly slogan, this is real life.
I want you to ask yourself this question, how can you support a company that would use their popularity and power to hire refugees from another country over that of a born and raised American citizen in need of work? Why is it that we are not taking care of our veterans, our poor, and indigent here. Why is the government not giving them the things that are being handed out in droves to immigrants?
I have tolerated Starbucks long enough. I suffered through everything they tossed out at us conservatives over the years. I had stood up in past storms alone and continued to purchase their product. Those days are finally over. I will not do this anymore. That was one disrespect too many. Your product is no longer good enough to remove this bad taste from my mouth. Good bye, Starbucks, you have lost my business forever.
